The features of the Hopkins River Mouth utterly change over days, sometimes just hours due to the amount of shifting sand, the rough seas molding and smashing from one direction and the flood waters pouring from the other. Sometimes you can see huge rocks looming in the river and sometimes none. They are submerged by sand. The combination of the dynamic landscape, hugely varying colours and often extreme weather patterns makes for a fascinating and beautiful location.
